In the picture to the left the casting on the right was cracked beyond repair. We bonded 1/4" thick plywood on the way surfaces to increase their thickness and compensate for shrinkage and material to be removed during machining. The original casting was then taken to a local foundry and used as a pattern to cast the new casting on the left in the picture. |
